Translation on Tap in NYC, July 1 – 31, 2016

978-3-498-05786-2Look, I wish I could offer you some translation events this month, I really do, but so far I have nothing. Nichts, nada, niente, ничего. So maybe you should just read a book instead, or go to the beach, or, I don’t know, translate something? (If I hear of any events later, I’ll of course let you know.)

Here’s a picture of what I’m reading right now. You can also get it in English. It’s fantastic.

Update: An event! There’s an event!

Thursday, July 21:

Launch event for Newcomers by Slovenian author Lojze Kovačič, featuring translator Michael Biggins in conversation with Gabriel Sanders. More information here. Community Bookstore, 143 7th Ave., Brooklyn, 7:00 p.m.

  1. Dear Susan Bernofsky,

I was happy to discover your blog.
Dryad Press has published numbers of translations of poetry and prose. A few months ago we published Yossel Birstein’s AND SO IS THE BUS: JERUSALEM STORIES, translated from the Hebrew by Margaret Birstein, Hana Inbar, and Robert Manaster.
You can find a description, a story on the Dryad Press website, reviews, and more: http://www.dryadpress.com/AndSoIsTheBus.htm
Let me know if you’d like to see a copy — no obligations of course.

    Yours sincerely,
    Merrill Leffler
